WHEN WILL REGISTRATION OPEN?

Registration for the Nike She Runs 10K on Friday 14th March 2014. 6,000 spaces are available. First in best dressed!

WHO MAY APPLY?

Women or men who are eighteen years or older as of the race's specified date may apply to participate in the Nike She Runs 10K. Runners under the age of 18 will need their parent or guardian to sign for them at time of registration. Please note that all race tees are women’s apparel and sizing.

WHY DO I NEED TO LOGIN WITH A NIKE+ PROFILE TO REGISTER?

As a Nike sponsored event, we are integrating participation with the Nike+ Running technology that will provide all participants with unique training and race weekend experiences. We are excited to offer a physical race experience that will be integrated with Nike+ and will connect all Nike She Runs 10K runners with the world's largest online running community. After registration we will share more ways to enhance your training and race weekend experience through Nike+.

IS THERE A FEE TO USE NIKE+?

Registering with a Nike+ profile is free. If you have an iPhone or Android device, you can download the free Nike+ Running App here.

WHAT IF I DON'T RUN WITH MY PHONE OR DON'T HAVE A SMARTPHONE?

There are several additional devices that are integrated with Nike+ Running technology and you may utilize any of the devices as part of your participation. For more information and help choosing a Nike+ device, go here.

HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT NIKE+?

WHAT IS THE FEE TO RACE IN THE NIKE SHE RUNS 10K?

Registration opens Friday 14th March 2014

Registration with tee/tank $70 

Registration with tee/tank/shoes* $180 

*Limit on entry with shoes. While supplies last. 

CAN I CHANGE MY TEE OR TANK?

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT METHODS FOR REGISTRATION?

Our site will accept all major credit cards. 

'Credit card payment can be made using MasterCard®, VISA® or AMEX®.' 

IF I HAVE PURCHASED THE SHOE OPTION, WHERE AND WHEN DO I COLLECT MY SHOES?

You will collect them at the Nike She Runs Hub, North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club (corner of Campbell Parade and Ramsgate Avenue), North Bondi. The Nike She Runs Hub will be open from Friday 28h March – Sunday 30th March, 10am – 7pm.

I'M NOT FROM SYDNEY. HOW CAN I COLLECT MY SHOES?

Shoes can only be collected from the Nike She Runs Hub. We will not be mailing out uncollected shoes.

WHAT IS THE NIKE SHE RUNS HUB?

The Nike She Runs Hub is a central place for our runners to receive services to help them prepare for the race. Have your gait analysed and a shoe prescribed based on how you run. Get information on all of our Nike+ Run Club and Nike Training Club options.  

WILL THERE BE AN ELITE DIVISION?

The Nike She Runs 10K will not provide a preferred or elite start. The overall winner will be determined based on gun time. Therefore, female runners who would like to compete for the top three spots should plan to line-up as close to the starting line as possible.

WHAT OTHER TERMS SHOULD I BE AWARE OF?

IS THERE A TRAINING PLAN?

Yes you can choose your 10k training plan via the Nike+ Running App and select one of three levels.

WILL THERE BE OPTIONS TO TRAIN WITH OTHER GIRLS THAT HAVE REGISTERED?

Yes. We will have Nike+ Run Club and Nike Training Club sessions leading up to the race. Check our Facebook page (facebook.com/nikesheruns) for the weekly schedules.

WHAT IF I REGISTER AND THEN BECOME INJURED, OR AM UNABLE TO ATTEND THE RACE?

Any injured runner requesting a refund will need to submit a refund form along with any supporting information by no later than Friday 25th April 5pm EST. Please contact nike.sheruns@nike.com for the refund form. Refund requests submitted after this date will not be granted, regardless of circumstance. A refund will only be considered if you are injured and you must provide a doctors certificate with your request. We will only refund the entry component which we valued at $35. Tee/Tank or Shoes (depending on your registration) is non-refundable.

CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER RUNNER?

No transfers are available for the Nike She Runs 10K.

NIKE SHE RUNS HUB / RACE PACK

IF I HAVE PURCHASED THE SHOE OPTION, WHERE AND WHEN DO I COLLECT MY SHOES?

You will collect them at the Nike She Runs Hub, North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club (corner of Campbell Parade and Ramsgate Avenue), North Bondi. The Nike She Runs Hub will be open from Friday 28th March – Sunday 30th March, 10.00am – 7.00pm.

IM NOT FROM SYDNEY. HOW CAN I COLLECT MY SHOES?

Shoes can only be collected from the Nike She Runs Hub. We will not be mailing out this option. We would advise not to select this option if you do not live in Sydney.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY RACE PACKET?

If you live in NSW: During registration, you will select a shopping centre location in Sydney, most convenient to you, in which you will be able to collect your race between 10th -16th April.

If you live interstate (outside NSW): Your race pack will be mailed to you 2 weeks prior to the race, via your nominated address during registration.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY RACE PACKET ON MY BEHALF?

No, each registered individual must pick up her own race packet. You must also bring a valid ID to pick up your race pack.

CAN I PICK UP MY PACKET ON RACE DAY?

No, there will not be packet pick-up on race day. All participants must pick up their packet in person at their nominated shopping centre. 

WHAT DOES MY RACE PACKET INCLUDE?

In your race day packet, you will receive: a timing chip that MUST be worn race day, a race tee or tank that MUST be worn race day, and product samples from our partners.

PARKING / TRANSPORTATION

ARE THERE TOILETS AT THE START VENUE?

Yes. There will be toilets available pre and post race.

WILL THERE BE ANY FOOD AT THE FINISH?

Yes. Water and hydration drinks will be provided. Food vendors will also be on site to purchase other food and drink.

HOW DO I GET TO CENTENNIAL PARKLANDS?

The Event Village is located at Brazilian Fields in Centennial Park.The Event Village is located within Centennial Parklands. For your safety and ease of access, entry to Centennial Park will be through the following gates:

Robertson Road Gate (cnr of Robertson Rd & Lang Rd)
Paddington Gate (cnr of Oxford St and Parkes Drive)

These gates will have Nike She Runs team members to guide and assist you on your way to the Event Village.

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO VEHICLE ACCESS TO CENTENNIAL PARK ON EVENT DAY.


PUBLIC TRANSPORT

As a runner you will receive free train, bus and ferry services on event day. Make sure you wear your race tee/tank to and from the event to claim your free transport!Please see the free public transport information below:

  • Rail network bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst and Dungog stations
  • All Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan regular route bus services
  • Sydney Ferries (operated by Harbour City Ferries)
  • Light Rail

GET THERE BY BUS

  • From Central Station (Eddie Ave) to Anzac Parade, at the corner of Lang Road (10 minute walk to Robertson Road Gates): Buses 339, 355, 374 and 376,
  • From the City (Liverpool Street, near Elizabeth Street) to Anzac Parade, at the corner of Lang Road (10 minute walk to Robertson Road Gates): Buses 373 and 377
  • From the City (Liverpool Street, near Elizabeth Street) to Oxford Street near Jersey Road (5 minute walk to Paddington Gates): Buses 333, 378, 380 and M40.

GET THERE BY BIKE

Centennial Parklands is a comfortable riding distance from the city, inner west and eastern suburbs of Sydney, and is well integrated into the regional cycling networks (info: www.sydneycycleways.net). Bike parking will be available at the Event Village.


CAR PARKING

  • There is no parking for event patrons in Centennial Park and all vehicle gates will be closed. Limited parking will be available at Showground Field and Kippax off Driver Avenue, Moore Park. The flat rate is $25. From the car park it is a 5 minute walk to Robertson Road Gates. 
  • Additional parking is available at The Entertainment Quarter Car Park which is located off Errol Flynn Boulevard. The flat rate is $25.

PARTICIPANTS

CAN WALKERS PARTICIPATE THE 10K?

Yes, walkers are welcome, however, all participants must complete the race within the specified time. Walkers who are not on pace to complete the event before the course closes will be picked up and transported to the finish by our Emergency vehicle. All participants must pass the 5K marker by 7:00PM.

HOW MANY RUNNERS DO YOU EXPECT TO PARTICIPATE THIS YEAR?

There will be approximately 6000 participants.

CAN MEN PARTICIPATE?

Yes, the Nike She Runs 10K accepts all runners and walkers. However, please note that the race tee/tank and shoe option are in women’s style and sizes only.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER?

We welcome your participation as a volunteer! The event will need hundreds of volunteers to staff the aid stations, and offer support to the runners at the start and finish. All volunteers will receive an official race volunteer t-shirt.

THE RACE & COURSE

WHAT DO I NEED RACE DAY TO BE ALLOWED TO PARTICPATE?

To participate in the Nike She Runs 10K, and to be allowed on course, you must be wearing your assigned race tee or tank and matching timing chip. Runners that do not have both of these items will not be able to participate.

WHAT IF MY TIMING CHIP FALLS OFF DURING THE RACE?

Runners that make it to the finish line missing their timing chip should make their way to the solutions zone at the finish for further assistance, to prove their status, and to be recognized as a finisher.

WHAT TIME DOES THE RACE START?

The Nike She Runs 10K will start at 6:00PM.

HOW MANY WATER STATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE?

Water and Hydration beverages will be available throughout the course. Please check back later for specific on course aid station locations.

WHAT IS THE TERRAIN OF THE COURSE?

The Nike She Runs 10K is a rolling course that starts and finishes in Centennial Parklands. Runners will be treated to on course entertainment throughout the race. Check back for further details.

DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE COURSE BY A SPECIFIC TIME?

Yes. All runners must complete the race before 8PM.

WHAT IF I CANNOT COMPLETE THE COURSE BEFORE IT CLOSES?

Participants who are unable to complete the course within the time allotted will be transported to the finish line by race officials. Runners who choose not to be picked up will not be recognized as a finisher and assume full responsibility for their safety as the road opens to traffic and the public.

WHERE CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY CHEER ME ON?

Centennial Parklands will be open to the public during this time for your friends and family to cheer you on! Check back closer to the event for the best vantage points on course.

IS THERE A BAG CHECK FOR PARTICIPANTS?

Yes, there will be a bag check for all participants within the start/finish area

WHAT ARE THE AWARDS/PRIZES?

Each participant will receive a commemorative item upon finishing the race. The overall finisher, as well as one random winner, will each receive a trip for 2 to the 2014 Nike Womens Marathon San Francisco (economy flights, accommodation and race ticket included). This prize is for female participants only (total value $7,000).
